Parents Seeing the Technology Their Children are Using Everyday
Boynton Elementary recently held a Boynton Byte Night. This was a time for parents to come into the school to experience the many exciting ways that having 1:1 devices in our school has enhanced student learning. Each grade level showcased one or more APPS or programs they use with their students on a daily basis. Students got to tutor their parents in the use of these tools. Music and P.E. were using APPS for education as well as all of the resource teachers. The robotics team demonstrated how they are using lego's robots to learn coding and taking these robots to competitions in the North Georgia area. There was a selfie booth to promote the Boynton Tweeter and Facebook pages. Boynton's PTO provided snacks for the evening. There were door prizes given out every few minutes with a Kindle Fire as the grand prize. Boynton Principal, Mrs Scott said, "I thank Mrs. Reese, our board and our county for their willingness to make the 1:1 roll out happen. I would also like to thank our Tech Team and teachers for all of their hard work in putting this event together. I think that it is important that the community know that this night was special because it allowed the teachers to show parents the multiple ways that students use the technology and how the technology has enhanced student learning."
