We have all been deeply saddened by the tragic school shooting in Uvalde, Texas. Catoosa County Public Schools is devoted to providing a safe and secure school learning environment for all our students and families. We have carefully reviewed our protocols and safety procedures for all of our schools. One area that is of concern is the inability to safely monitor adults entering the school building each morning during their arrival at school. The best way to secure our campus during morning arrival is access control, limiting the number of visitors entering the building in the mornings. In an effort to maintain a safe and secure environment, the following morning dropoff guidelines have been established. We ask that parents only walk their children to the classroom during the first week of school for morning arrival. -- Teachers and staff will be present at car riders and buses to ensure students are entering the building safely and assisted to the gym, cafeteria, or classrooms. -- Parents who want to eat breakfast with their child will be required to sign in at the office. -- Parents attending morning meetings with teachers and/or administration prior to the beginning of the school day will sign in at the office. Your child's safety is our number one priority, and we believe this is one more way to keep our schools a safe place to learn and grow. Please call or email me if you have any questions or concerns. We appreciate your cooperation and support as we work together to provide a safe, positive, and healthy place to learn and grow every day.
